Cappe “Watermelon Boy”

watermellonboy1.jpg

This piece is just down right cute.  Another style of Cappe - showing his many talents.  Looks like he’s taking time out to taste the first crop of watermelons.  I love his old boots and sling shot and his expression is darling.

Cappe “Couple in Spring”

untitled-2.jpg

Lovely couple in spring with a definite Capodimonte influence.  Capodimonte porcelain is known as the finest and most perfect grade of Italian artistic pottery.  This piece shows the wide variety of artistic talents possessed by Giuseppe Cappe.

Cappe “The Prayer”

Cappe The Prayer

An earlier version of Cappe’s “The Prayer”. I think this piece is much bolder than the whimsical and delicate artform of Cybis or Ispanky. Cappe’s wide variety of sculptures are a favorite in my collection.
